Chapter 10

1 And Ahab256 had seventy7657 sons1121 in Samaria.8111 And Jehu3058 wrote3789 letters,5612 and sent7971 to Samaria,8111 to the rulers8269 of Jezreel,3157 to the elders,2205 and to them that brought539 up Ahab's256 children, saying,559

2 Now6258 as soon as this2088 letter5612 comes935 to you, seeing your master's113 sons1121 are with you, and there are with you chariots7393 and horses,5483 a fenced4013 city5892 also, and armor;5402

3 Look7200 even out the best2896 and meet3477 of your master's113 sons,1121 and set7760 him on5921 his father's1 throne,3678 and fight3898 for your master's113 house.1004

4 But they were exceedingly3966 afraid,3372 and said,559 Behold,2009 two8147 kings4428 stood5975 not before6440 him: how349 then shall we stand?5975

5 And he that was over5921 the house,1004 and he that was over5921 the city,5892 the elders2205 also, and the bringers539 up of the children, sent7971 to Jehu,3058 saying,559 We are your servants,5650 and will do6213 all3605 that you shall bid559 us; we will not make any376 king:4427 do6213 you that which is good2896 in your eyes.5869

6 Then he wrote3789 a letter5612 the second8145 time to them, saying,559 If518 you be mine, and if you will listen8085 to my voice,6963 take3947 you the heads7218 of the men582 your master's113 sons,1121 and come935 to me to Jezreel3157 by to morrow4279 this time.6256 Now the king's4428 sons,1121 being seventy7657 persons,376 were with the great1419 men of the city,5892 which brought1431 them up.

7 And it came1961 to pass, when the letter5612 came935 to them, that they took3947 the king's4428 sons,1121 and slew7819 seventy7657 persons,376 and put7760 their heads7218 in baskets,1731 and sent7971 him them to Jezreel.3157

8 And there came935 a messenger,4397 and told5046 him, saying,559 They have brought935 the heads7218 of the king's4428 sons.1121 And he said,559 Lay7760 you them in two8147 heaps6652 at the entering6607 in of the gate8179 until5704 the morning.1242

9 And it came1961 to pass in the morning,1242 that he went3318 out, and stood,5975 and said559 to all3605 the people,5971 You be righteous:6662 behold,2009 I conspired7194 against5921 my master,113 and slew2026 him: but who4310 slew5221 all3605 these?428

10 Know3045 now645 that there shall fall5307 to the earth776 nothing3808 of the word1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 the LORD3068 spoke1696 concerning5921 the house1004 of Ahab:256 for the LORD3068 has done6213 that which834 he spoke1696 by his servant5650 Elijah.452

11 So Jehu3058 slew5221 all3605 that remained7604 of the house1004 of Ahab256 in Jezreel,3157 and all3605 his great1419 men, and his kinfolks,3045 and his priests,3548 until5704 he left7604 him none1115 remaining.8300

12 And he arose6965 and departed,935 and came1980 to Samaria.8111 And as he was at the shearing1044 7462 house1004 in the way,1870

13 Jehu3058 met4672 with the brothers251 of Ahaziah274 king4428 of Judah,3063 and said,559 Who4310 are you? And they answered,559 We are the brothers251 of Ahaziah;274 and we go3381 down3381 to salute7965 the children1121 of the king4428 and the children1121 of the queen.1377

14 And he said,559 Take8610 them alive.2416 And they took8610 them alive,2416 and slew7819 them at the pit953 of the shearing1044 house,1004 even two8147 and forty705 men;376 neither3808 left7604 he any376 of them.

15 And when he was departed3212 there,8033 he lighted4672 on854 Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab7394 coming to meet7125 him: and he saluted1288 him, and said559 to him, Is your heart3824 right,3477 as my heart3824 is with your heart?3824 And Jehonadab3082 answered,559 It is. If it be, give5414 me your hand.3027 And he gave5414 him his hand;3027 and he took5927 him up to him into413 the chariot.4818

16 And he said,559 Come3212 with me, and see7200 my zeal7068 for the LORD.3068 So they made him ride7392 in his chariot.7393

17 And when he came935 to Samaria,8111 he slew5221 all3605 that remained7604 to Ahab256 in Samaria,8111 till5704 he had destroyed8045 him, according to the saying1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 he spoke1696 to Elijah.452

18 And Jehu3058 gathered6908 all3605 the people5971 together, and said559 to them, Ahab256 served5647 Baal1168 a little;4592 but Jehu3058 shall serve5647 him much.7235

19 Now6258 therefore call7121 to me all3605 the prophets5030 of Baal,1168 all3605 his servants,5647 and all3605 his priests;3548 let none376 408 be wanting:6485 for I have a great1419 sacrifice2077 to do to Baal;1168 whoever3605 834 shall be wanting,6485 he shall not live.2421 But Jehu3058 did6213 it in subtlety,6122 to the intent4616 that he might destroy6 the worshippers5647 of Baal.1168

20 And Jehu3058 said,559 Proclaim6942 a solemn6116 assembly6116 for Baal.1168 And they proclaimed7121 it.

21 And Jehu3058 sent7971 through all3605 Israel:3478 and all3605 the worshippers5647 of Baal1168 came,935 so that there was not a man376 left7604 that came935 not. And they came935 into the house1004 of Baal;1168 and the house1004 of Baal1168 was full4390 from one end6310 to another.

22 And he said559 to him that was over5921 the vestry,4458 Bring3318 forth3318 vestments3830 for all3605 the worshippers5647 of Baal.1168 And he brought3318 them forth3318 vestments.4403

23 And Jehu3058 went,935 and Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab,7394 into the house1004 of Baal,1168 and said559 to the worshippers5647 of Baal,1168 Search,2664 and look7200 that there be here6311 with you none of the servants5650 of the LORD,3068 but the worshippers5647 of Baal1168 only.905

24 And when they went935 in to offer6213 sacrifices2077 and burnt5930 offerings, Jehu3058 appointed7760 fourscore8084 men376 without,2351 and said,559 If any of the men582 whom834 I have brought935 into5921 your hands3027 escape,4422 he that lets him go, his life5315 shall be for the life5315 of him.

25 And it came1961 to pass, as soon as he had made an end3615 of offering6213 the burnt5930 offering, that Jehu3058 said559 to the guard7323 and to the captains,7991 Go935 in, and slay5221 them; let none408 come3381 forth.3318 And they smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 and the guard7323 and the captains7991 cast7993 them out, and went3212 to the city5892 of the house1004 of Baal.1168

26 And they brought3318 forth3318 the images4676 out of the house1004 of Baal,1168 and burned8313 them.

27 And they broke5422 down5422 the image4676 of Baal,1168 and broke5422 down5422 the house1004 of Baal,1168 and made7760 it a draught4280 house to this2088 day.3117

28 Thus3541 Jehu3058 destroyed8045 Baal1168 out of Israel.3478

29 However, from the sins2399 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Nebat,5028 who834 made Israel3478 to sin,2398 Jehu3058 departed5493 not from after310 them, to wit, the golden2091 calves5695 that were in Bethel,1008 and that were in Dan.1835

30 And the LORD3068 said559 to Jehu,3058 Because3282 834 you have done well2895 in executing6213 that which is right3477 in my eyes,5869 and have done6213 to the house1004 of Ahab256 according to all3605 that was in my heart,3824 your children1121 of the fourth7243 generation shall sit3427 on5921 the throne3678 of Israel.3478

31 But Jehu3058 took no3808 heed8104 to walk3212 in the law8451 of the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 with all3605 his heart:3824 for he departed5493 not from the sins2403 of Jeroboam,3379 which834 made Israel3478 to sin.2398

32 In those1992 days3117 the LORD3068 began2490 to cut7096 Israel3478 short: and Hazael2371 smote5221 them in all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel;3478

33 From Jordan3383 eastward,4217 8121 all3605 the land776 of Gilead,1568 the Gadites,1425 and the Reubenites,7206 and the Manassites,4520 from Aroer,6177 which834 is by the river5158 Arnon,769 even Gilead1568 and Bashan.1316

34 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehu,3058 and all3605 that he did,6213 and all3605 his might,1369 are they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478

35 And Jehu3058 slept7901 with his fathers:1 and they buried6912 him in Samaria.8111 And Jehoahaz3059 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

36 And the time3117 that Jehu3058 reigned4427 over5921 Israel3478 in Samaria8111 was twenty6242 and eight8083 years.8141

21 And Jehu3058 sent7971 through all3605 Israel:3478 and all3605 the worshippers5647 of Baal1168 came,935 so that there was not a man376 left7604 that came935 not. And they came935 into the house1004 of Baal;1168 and the house1004 of Baal1168 was full4390 from one end6310 to another.

23 And Jehu3058 went,935 and Jehonadab3082 the son1121 of Rechab,7394 into the house1004 of Baal,1168 and said559 to the worshippers5647 of Baal,1168 Search,2664 and look7200 that there be here6311 with you none of the servants5650 of the LORD,3068 but the worshippers5647 of Baal1168 only.905

30 Господь сказал Ииую: «Ты сделал всё правильно. Ты уничтожил семью Ахава, как Я хотел. Поэтому твои потомки до четвёртого поколения будут править Израилем».

31 But Jehu3058 took no3808 heed8104 to walk3212 in the law8451 of the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 with all3605 his heart:3824 for he departed5493 not from the sins2403 of Jeroboam,3379 which834 made Israel3478 to sin.2398

31 Но Ииуй не соблюдал законов Господа, Бога Израиля, от всего сердца. Он не прекратил совершать грехи Иеровоама, который ввёл Израиль в грех.

32 In those1992 days3117 the LORD3068 began2490 to cut7096 Israel3478 short: and Hazael2371 smote5221 them in all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel;3478
